Discover the Power Within you

By Eric Butterworth

I am reporting this month on the book, DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOU By Eric Butterworth; Special 40th Anniversary Edition, 1989  Special Forward by Maya Angelou

The author tries to answer the question who are we, really? And how do we relate to God?  Jesus Christ made probably the greatest breakthrough in the history of mankind when he came to the realization of his unity with God. Up to this point we had always believed that we were separate from God.  God was either up here or out there but never actually within us. Jesus showed us that even as He was the son of God, we are all Children of God, created in his image and likeness.  We are the activity and God-life of God on earth, here and now.

Butterworth talks about the Christ Consciousness. Christ is the mind of God individualized, in each and every one of us, as well as every living thing upon this planet.  Jesus created a window in the great partition between man and God and invites us to look through it into the ultimate reality of our unity with.

The book talks about the unique concept Jesus had of God.  He said you can never be separated from God, because you are an impression of God, the very self-livingness of God, at the point right where you are now. Butterworth states that prayer is not something we do to God, but to ourselves.  It is not flattery but a sense of oneness.  It is not an asking, but a knowing.  It is a matter of consciousness, rightly directed and spiritually oriented.

We are studying DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOU in our Wednesday evening bible study group.  Please join us and find out how to get to know the God Within You.

Notes From a Skylark

By Schuyler Cronley

Christ of Galilee

In the ever-radiating Presence of a power I cannot see;

I can feel the Christly essence of the man of Galilee.

His cloak is ‘round about me, his words clearly in my ears;

No longer do I fear the tempest, nor the passing of the years.

The loving truth he taught me will forever be my guide;

I shall no longer stumble upon the path at eventide.

For the ever-radiating presence of this power I cannot see;

Holds me safely and securely, O blessed Christ of Galilee.
