The Power of the Month is Understanding

Understanding reveals that love and wisdom should work together, that power should be expressed through love, and that zeal should be tempered with wisdom.  Intellectual understanding comes first in the soul's development, then a deeper understanding of Divine Laws follows as we open our heart to Spirit’s Presence, until the whole man ripens into Spiritual Understanding. Those who are being educated in Truth through the power of the word will finally arrive at the place where the true light from Spirit will dawn on them, and they will see the spiritual understanding and have proof of the reality of the Christ Mind.

                                                                                    Keep a True Lent

Will Spirit’s prompting come by voice?  No!  You will know through the faculty of intuition.  Divine knowing is direct fusion of mind of God with mind of man.  Sometimes we are taught by symbols, visions, and the like, but this is only one of the ways that Divine Mind has of expressing itself.  When the mind deals with God ideals it asks for no symbols, visible or invisible, but rests on pure knowing.  It was in this consciousness that Jesus said: "Father, I thank You that You hear me.  And I know that you always hear me."

The problem of self-control of the mind is never settled until all that man is comes into touch with the Divine will and understanding.  You must understand all your forces before you can establish them in harmony.  This overcoming is easy if you go about it in the right way.  Get your “I AM” centered in God, and from that place of Truth speak true words.  In this way you will gain real spiritual mastery and raise your will consciousness from the human to the divine.

We work on the Power of Understanding by using our five senses, however we have to reach beyond what our ego says we are witnessing.  There always comes a time when we want to know more.  But have you noticed how sometimes you do not even know what the question is?  The bottom line is, if we do not pause, seek Spirit’s Understanding, ask and try different things, nothing will happen.  The key to our understanding is prayer, just as Jacob paused during his travel and went to God.  The Divine always knows the answer even when we do no know what we are seeking!

Our ultimate understanding is that there is only God. Realizing there is only God we are able to easily behold the Christ in others.  This makes it easy for us to practice the Golden Rule, for when we understand someone, we love him.  Do you get a sense of a circle there?  God gives us understanding – through understanding we realize love – God is love – God gives us Understanding.  Such Wisdom Solomon had when he asked for an understanding heart.
