Minister's Letter for July 2025
The Pieces of a Puzzle
Have you ever wondered how all the pieces of a puzzle are going to fit together? Well, that is actually one of the mysteries of life. Yes indeed, knowing that the next step we take will determine the course of the rest of our life! Wow! This often leads us to wonder how we arrived at the place we are at today, as an individual, a community and a nation. Yes, all just pieces of a puzzle, that are put in place one moment and one day at a time. What does the puzzle of your life look like in this moment now and what pieces of your life’s puzzle are waiting to be put in place, to determine the rest of your life?
Believe it or not, this is often the process I go through each day as I try to determine, “what is mine to do” and “when am I supposed to do it.” Then I try to figure out what I am going to do in this moment now and what I am going to do for the rest of the day. And I can hear you thinking, “Good luck with that!” This is when I remember to pause and breathe in that Gift of Life and feel the Living Waters flowing through me and I hear that prayer Shavonne taught me. “I am the place God shines through. For God and I are one not two, I need not fear nor fret, nor plan for God needs me right where I am. And if I am relaxed and free, God will do a might work through me.” As I say this prayer over and over again, I have learned to engage the power of Spiritual Understanding.
Yes, Spiritual Understanding is the spiritual faculty for the month of July. And yes Charles Fillmore, put it right in the middle of the forehead next to the power of will (making it a very crowded place); but I and the Bible put in the soft points of the feet. Remember the phrase repeated several places in the Bible, “remove your sandals for the place you stand is holy ground!” Yes, “the place you stand is holy ground.” This is a very important concept to remember. When I do, I see and feel the Living Energy pouring down upon me and filling every cell of my being and then going down into Mother Earth all the way down to the core of our planet. As I do, I feel the movement of Mother Earth and I say guide me in what I am supposed to do throughout this day. As I do, I begin to see, and feel, how the different pieces of the puzzle that is my life today are going to fit together. Yes, Spiritual Understanding is not about having compassion, empathy and being kind to others, although those are all really good attributes which are more a component of the spiritual faculty of love. Spiritual Understanding is an intuitive knowing of the next step to take and how the “pieces of a puzzle” are going to come together for the highest good of all. This allows us to live in harmony with the world around us and empowers us to complete our “tasks” quickly.
Developing an awareness of spiritual understanding and attuning myself to Its movements and promptings has really helped me to de-stress my life. Being raised by a “businessman” of a father, and someone who was always focused on completing the task and getting the job done in the right and perfect way, I developed personality traits that were very task oriented. I learned to get the job done in the quickest and best way, and working hard to do it, and in the straightest line. Then I went to college and got a business degree and then went to work for Marriott after I graduated! This just ignited those personality traits. No wonder my family has had health issues surrounding the heart and high blood pressure!
Now that I have put myself in the positions of being the minister & manager of USLC, an adjunct faculty member of UWSI, a published author, a member of the credentialing team for UWSI, homeowner and maintenance man. I have taught myself to pause in this moment now and breath in that gift of life and engage the faculty of spiritual understanding and ask the Divine how am I going to complete all these tasks and experience the wonder and delight of this kingdom of Infinite goodness. Then the insights come, guiding me one step at a time and jumping into the flow of the goodness of life.
Namaste I see the light moving in You!
