My Will Sets Me Into Action
As I sit here thinking about what to type on this month’s Spiritual Faculty, it creates a lot of confusion in me. Yes, the word for the month, and the spiritual faculty of “will,” creates a lot of confusion within me! And as I contemplate the word “will,” I see it is creating a lot chaos of the world. Unfortunately, there are several politicians, who use the phrase “God’s Will” to justify some of the horrendous policies that they want to engage. Saying
It is God’s Will that such and such be done, and they will sight a very miss-translated and miss-understood from the Bible to justify their thinking. Some men get going and use the phrase God’s Will to justify their belief in their sexual superiority. And the phrase is the reason why men have been allowed to enslave women and hold the belief that women are a second-class citizens and need to stay home. Wow.
Well, I go could on and on and on, cause My Will Sets Me Into Action, when I hear the word “WILL.” I often think that is one of the word’s Unity should perhaps change, so some people like me don’t get lost in it’s use. However, Charles Fillmore and Unity have a very different Understanding of the word and how to apply it with the functioning of our 12 Spiritual Powers. What really helped me is when I realized that metaphysically, John Luke Picard, captain of the Star Ship Enterprise represents the Spiritual Faculty of Will. Yes indeed, when the captain of the Star Ship, is to make an important decision he is to consult with all the other primary faculties of the Star Ship, before saying Make It SO!
Yes, the will is the executive faculty of our spiritual awareness. It is the determining factor in human beings. Whatever we will, or decree will come to pass in our experience. As it says in the book of Job 22:28 “Whatever you shall decree a thing; it shall be established unto you.” Now I must point out this is one of those verses that was very miss-translated and miss-understood, because some believe it was referring to God. But what it is actually referring to is the Divine in You, “The I Am” of You. When we learn to pause and realize that our Spiritual Faculty of Will is what sets the chain of events into action in our lives (yes that sets the chain of cause and effect,) we will learn to consider our thoughts, words, and actions much more deeply. I can think of at least a dozen different movies, where the power of our Spiritual Faculty of Will is highlighted.
Yes, the spiritual factuality of Will is the choosing, directing, decision-making faculty of our awareness, whether we are aware of it or not. The faculty of will is located in the center of your forehead, and as you look out into the world it sees all. And it begins the processing process, and communicates the information to the other spiritual faculty. When it sees or senses something in the invisible ethers around you, in which you need to take actions your spiritual faculty of Will communicates that info to the appropriate Spiritual Faculty. Yes, your spiritual faculty of Will is your capacity to say “Yes” or “No” to opportunities and options. The highest expression of Will is willingness to be in conscious consent with the will of The Divine, which is in the field of Living Energy and seeks to share Its wonder and goodness with all.
Now how does that work? Well as I walk out into my backyard garden, I have a nudge from my Spiritual Faculty of Will to see something beautiful. Faith in me looks up seeing beyond all appearance and it focuses on the Crepe Myrtles in full bloom. With my Faith still engaged, my spiritualize Will, then engages my spiritual faculty of Understanding and I can see and sense the Living Energy flowing through this amazing tree. Then my spiritualized Will engages my Heart and I am now feeling my oneness with the Crepe Myrtles and all the other flowers in my garden. Wow! Now if a danger occurs, say a skunk walks into my garden, Spiritualized Will says, time to go inside, because it is aware of all the other faculties that the skunk might stink the place up. Wow
Namaste, I see the light in you, Rev. Patrick
