I Am Thankful So Grateful for the Wonder
and Goodness of Life
November is indeed an intriguing month, especially if we were to walk through the veil of the fall equinox and open our awareness to the Spiritual Dimension. However to truly do this we have to learn to engage our Spiritual Faculty of Elimination, Renunciation and Renewal, which in Unity’s teachings is placed in the small of the back. Yes, as you probably have already guessed, the Faculty of Elimination, Renunciation and Renewal, is the Spiritual Faculty that is the theme for the month of November. Now I know you are probably thinking but, but, but, isn’t it really supposed to be about Thanksgiving? Aren’t we supposed to be thankful for the beautiful fall weather, and the cooler temperatures, and the Holiday called Thanksgiving? Well Yes, this is very true but the only way we can really do this, is by engaging the Faculty of Elimination, Renunciation and Renewal. This is actually why the ancient Celts designed the 7 Layer Labyrinth and created the holiday called Samhain, which the Catholic Church now calls All Souls Day, and shared its essence with the world.
Now before I get lost in the wonders of the lost history of the Celtic traditions and history, I should probably share a little bit more about the Spiritual Faculty of Elimination, Renunciation and Renewal because the only way you can truly experience the wonders and goodness of the Holiday of Thanksgiving and the amazing fall colors is by engaging this spiritual faculty which I really believe should be called the Spiritual Faculty of Forgiveness. But then in our world today who really wants to practice the Spiritual Discipline of Forgiveness, because is that what got Jesus in so much trouble! Yes he practiced the Art of Forgiveness and freeing himself and others of all their karmic debt and all their self-inflicted nonsense (what the word sin really means.) And yes, the only way you can walk through this veil that separates our physical reality from the Spiritual Dimension is by first practicing the Art of Forgiveness.
Now I know everyone’s ego might be shouting out as they hear this, “WHAT, that is just craziness, why would anyone want to forgive that Jerk!” Well, that is the first thing you got to do, is to set that voice of doubt and fear aside and pause fully in this moment now and just breathe in the breath (Spirit) and feel It’s Living Energy flowing through you. Then recall one of those hurt filled, pain filled, chaos filled moments; past or present. Pause and feel the energy of that moment; now visualize a point 6 to 10 inches above your head, and see the Living Waters pouring down from Eternal Life, and pouring down upon you. As it flows through your Crown Charka, down through your neural net and each of your charkas, as it glows with the Living Energy filling every cell of your being. Then say, “I am free of that, I am free of that, thank God I am free of that.” As you finish saying this, see the light of healing and release shining in yourself, and any and all individuals, who may have been involved in your experiences. Then see the light, the Core Star energy flow through you and surrounded you in a golden Bubble, and rest within it’s wonder. This is what I think Emmet Fox meant when he said, “Turn the Golden Key.” This is also what I believe the Ancient Celts did when they arrived at the center of the Labyrinth which they designed. Just as Jesus did, as metaphor, on the day he experienced that crucifixion, as the veil was rent in the temple of his soul.
Now, when you have done this a time or two, or three, you will be empowered to walk through the veil that separates the physical dimension from our Spiritual Reality. Developing this daily ritual will open your awareness of the spiritual dimension with all of it’s wonder and goodness and will open your awareness to joy that is inherent in the all of life, which I believe is something to be truly thankful for. And I believe it is why western culture unknowingly set up the amazing holiday called Thanksgiving so we would celebrate the wonder and goodness of life, that is right here, right now all the time.
Namaste, I see the Light in You, RevDoc Patrick
