Spiritual Strength
- a Key to Seeing the Intrinsic Value
As I was sitting watching a very bizarre episode of Deep Space 9, all I could say was “Wow, the synchronicity.” The Sunday Lesson, the lesson in Did Jesus Really Say That, the movie about Rosa Parks, The Crossing Jordan Episode, and now the Deep Space 9, were about the need of Humanity (that’s you and I and everyone) to awaken to the Intrinsic Value in everyone we meet and see! Just as the Facebook Post about Micheal Beckwith I came across, that said he believed we are in the midst of an evolutionary shift in consciousness. Most of the people who saw the post, didn’t know what it meant and wanted more clarification. Most who would see this post reacted, “What the heck is he talking about, with all the craziness going on in the world and all the backlash how could that be?”
As I read this post, I could not help but think of the 3 Force Theory my mentor Sallye Taylor would teach. The First Force is an idea, or insight, that will bubble up in humankind and will begin to spread through the ethers, tugging at the hearts and souls of many. Some people will begin to take action on this insight and spread the word. In Unity we believe that up until about 10 years ago this was happening around the world, the world was opening up to being the way of love. As people began to let go of their differences, opening up to the idea that every man, woman, and child has an intrinsic worth, that we all born in original virtue. That goodness and worthiness are part of the essence of every human being. Sometimes this goodness and worth is really hard to see, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.
And that Is when Second Force kicked into gear. It has been very unsettling to some people, people that believe they are supposed to be in the places and the positions of power and control, and they are supposed to be more important and better qualified than others. This is what Second Force is, a thought that is in conflict with the idea of goodness and wonder that might be bubbling up in other people around the world. Those who are attuned to second force, don’t want to lose their perceived power and control, nor do they want to lose their perception of the world and the way they believe the world must be. So, these people of the Second Force will seek to squash this new idea of what might be!
Sallye would then say to overcome this rising of Second Force, we must delve deeper into Spirit’s Presence to call forth the strength, wisdom and love that exists within us, so that we may rise up into an awareness of Third Force. Third Force will move with the ideal of that First Force and provide tools that will empower us to overcome the resistance and the obstacles Second Force has created. As the energy of Third Force moves through those who are open to It, a ripple will occur in the ethers as the Sparkling Light of Christ guides the way. This is the idea Michael Beckwith was sharing about the evolution.
There I typed IT! To overcome the rising of this Second Force, we must delve deeper into Spirit’s Presence and call forth the strength, wisdom and love that exists within us. The strength I am writing about isn’t a human being physical strength, often called into action to overcome and subdue an opponent. The strength I am writing about is “spiritual strength,” which is spiritual faculty for the month of March, a spiritual faculty that exist in each and every one of us. Unfortunately, most of us were not taught it was there and how to use it. Each of the characters in the movies I watched yesterday demonstrated this faculty very well. They would pause in this moment now, take a deep breath in, engaging their faculty of spiritual strength! They would consider the situation and engage spiritual wisdom and understanding, and then developed a new plan of action. This new plan of action was not based on strength or power or how to overcome the situation, but rather the Intrinsic Value of the situation and how they might move forward in a heart centered way to achieve the highest good of all. Wow.
