There can be miracles, when you believe. This very powerful song is from the animated movie the Prince of Egypt. It was an awesome movie with lots of great music. It was about the life of Moses, how he was raised in the house of Pharaoh, eventually fled into the wilderness, and later return to lead the descendants of Israeli out bondage in Egypt.
The song When You Believe is sung, as the children of Israeli flee their homes in the middle of the night headed towards the Red Sea. The song concludes after several miracles and they stand safely and freely on the Sinai Peninsula. Truly there can be miracles when you believe. The song is also about our struggle for freedom and the power of belief, which ultimately can decide whether, or not you, experience the freedom that is your Divine birthright.
Our affirmation for today goes right along with today’s theme

Here are a few thoughts from CareerBuilders.com on what not to do during an interview. Mistakes can leave unforgettable impressions for all the wrong reasons. Here are a few real-life examples of what not to do, and hopefully leave you smiling!
- One job Candidate answered their cell phone and then asked the interviewer to leave her own office because it was a "private" call.
- A second applicant smelled his armpits on the way to the interview room.
- A third Candidate told the interviewer he was unjustly fired for beating up his last boss.
- During a phone interview one candidate flushed the toilet while talking to interviewer.
So did you have a great 4th of July Celebration? Watch the fireworks, eat BBQ, and spend time with family and friends. And did you take time just to contemplate the meaning of the 4th of July and what true freedom really is? Allow it to stir in your imagination and let freedom ring through out your being.
Often here in the US we take our freedom for granted, not really considering the fact that most people around the world do experience Freedom the way we do. Many are like the children of Israeli who fled Egypt after years of bonds and struggled to obtain their freedom; a freedom that would allow them to determine their own fate, to choose where they would live, how they would work to earn an income.
The 4th of July, Independence Day, is the day our nations founders declared their independence from England. When we say those words and watch the fireworks filling the air, we don’t often realize that the 4th of July was just the beginning of very long struggle. Our fight for independence would last 5 years and end at the battle of Yorktown on October 19th of 1781. Much blood was shed, and the only fireworks were from cannons and bullets.
Even still the 13 colonies that had declared their independence from England, granted little freedom to their citizens. Under the Articles of Confederation, the people of the colonies continued to suffer economically, politically and religiously. The Religious groups that had been given land and power by England along with a few financially powerful men seized control of their individual colony and tried setup their own version of law and order and sought to establish mini-kingdoms reminiscent of what had long existed in Europe.
However, the people revolted and the colonies were once again on the brink of war when wiser minds prevailed. In 1886, ten years after the Declaration of Independence and 5 years after armed conflict ended with England, members of the 13 colonies sat down to draft a new Constitution, and on September 17th 1787, more than a year later, it was signed into law.
But still the citizens of this country were not provided with any type of civil rights; that did not occur until December 15th of 1791, when the first ten amendments, which became know as the Bill of Rights, were ratified and became law. That is date we should celebrate the freedoms we enjoy. 15 years and 6 months after our nation’s founders declared their Independence from England they formerly bestowed on the citizens of the 13 colonies a guarantee of certain freedoms, which in reality only represented a small portion of people who lived on it’s land – Women, Native Americans, Asians, and Blacks were excluded. Our country certainly has quite an interesting, yet not to familiar history.
Why have I given you the mini history lesson today? |

Stirring the imagination
Finding Jesus - An old drunk stumbled across a baptismal service being held down at the river one Sunday afternoon. He walked into the water and stood right next to the preacher. The minister noticed the old drunk and said, "Mister, are you ready to find Jesus?"
The drunk nodded and said, "Yes, preacher, I sure am."
The minister dunked the fellow into the water and pulled him right back out again. "Have you found Jesus?" the preacher asked. "Nooo, I didn't!" said the drunk.
The preacher then dunked the drunk under water a little longer this time before bringing em back up and he asked, "Now, brother, have you found Jesus?" "Noooo, I have not, Reverend," replied the man.
So in disgust the preacher, dunked the drunk under the water for at least 30 seconds this time, before bringing the poor old man’s head out of the water, and said in a harsh tone, "My God, man, have you found Jesus yet?" The old drunk wiped his eyes and replied to the preacher, "Are you sure this is where he fell in?"
I stir my imagination and the Creative Energy flows through me.
There is within you and at your disposal, a tool whereby you can bring into your life the deepest desires of your heart. This tool is a gift given to you by God – this gift has no strings attached; although, it does require you to do one thing to engage its incredible potential, you must stir it! Stirring the imagination empowers you to see with your "mind's eye" all the good that lies before you in the invisible matrix just waiting to be claimed.
Phineas Quimby, a healing practitioner in the mid-1800’s said, “When people say, ‘it’s all your imagination,’ they seem to mean it is nothing. On the contrary, the imagination is probably the most powerful faculty of the human mind and thousands of practical men today know that what the mind images becomes experience and fact.” The imagination is probably the most important aspect of the Creative Process and yet it’s the least understood and the most repressed.
I don’t know about you but when I was a kid I wanted to be outside playing or exploring or dreaming about how different things might be some day. I certainly wasn’t one |
