USLC's Ministers

Meet our Ministers . . .

Rev.'s Yvonne and Patrick McAndrew

After meeting and falling in love in 1979, our co-ministers were married in 1981.  Five years later a series of life changing events lead them to the Unity in Chicago, where they became active members.

Yvonne describes that first Unity experience, in 1986, as “a coming home.” Yvonne became quickly involved in Unity as a way of giving back for all that she received.

Within a year they were synchronistically guided to Unity Village, where they became engaged in Unity's Continuing Education Program due to the inspiration and insights that Ed Rabel and Frank Guidici provoked in them.  They knew they were being guided by Spirit, but weren't really sure where it would lead.

Eight Years later Rev. Patrick applied to ministerial school and was accepted.  During this time Rev. Yvonne completed the Licensed Unity Teacher Program.

Sixteen years later they are activitly involved in the growing and thriving UNITY SPIRITUAL LIFE CENTER  in Oklahoma City. Often they use their own life lessons, which are many, as points of learning and growing in the ways of Spirit.

Rev. Patrick and Rev. Yvonne often use as reference the birth of their daughter, Shavonne, who was born in 1992, as a point of learning and growing in the ways of Spirit.  Shavonne is presently a Music Education Major at Oklahoma City University, is active in the Youth and Family Ministry division of the church, plays the violin and sings like an angel. (See Shavonne's bio on the visiting artist page.)

Rev. Patrick graduated from Unity’s Ministerial School in 1997 where he received the James Dillet Freeman award as the ministerial student who best exemplified Unity Ministerial Consciousness.   He currently serves as the Vice-President and Youth Liaison for the Southwest Region of Unity Worldwide Ministries.  He has served on the Licensing and Ordination Committee for Unity Institute for the past 7 years and is now a sub-team chair. He also has served the Field Licensing Committee for eight years and is currently mentoring two candidates.   He attended Unity Executive Institute in 2002.  Rev. McAndrew holds a BA degree in Psychology and Business Management from James Madison University and has 21 years of managerial experience: 11 years in restaurants and 10 years in the transportation industry.

Rev. Patrick wears many hats at Unity Spiritual Life Center.  One of the most noteworthy is that he leads many of the Spiritual Education classes at the church.  Having passion for the Truth, Rev. Patrick uses humor, creativity, imagination, references to television, movies and cinema plus his own personal experiences to illustrate many of the lessons.  Rev. Patrick is noted for breaking down passages and restructuring them is a way that "speaks to you in a way that you always clearly understand" resonating from inside to the out.

Rev. Yvonne is a motivational speaker and leader in the New Thought Movement. She has spoken at numerous churches, venues, events, and cruises. You will enjoy Rev. Yvonne’s positive, practical, progressive approach to spirituality.

Rev. Yvonne possesses a rare and deep understanding of human behavior and is a true example of the principles she shares. As an inspirational speaker whose charismatic style captivates listeners, Yvonne ignites people's enthusiasm and joy for life. Her special interest is in helping people to discover their own inner resources, thus expanding their strengths, and life skills. She leaves her audiences empowered with the skills and the tools to effect positive hange in their lives.

Rev. Yvonne's passion and calling ranges from guidance for the Prayer Chaplain program to mentoring a thriving and successful Youth and Family Ministry program.
