What is Intelligent Design?

 

Over the past year the term Intelligent Design has increasingly been mentioned in educational and political conversation and debates.  It’s a term that you should explore and become very familiar with. If not, it will become part of our children’s future education.  So if you interested or concerned about our children’s educational process you might do some research on these ideas.  Intelligent design was presented to the Kansas Legislature, and several other states as a science alternative to the theory of evolution?  But is Intelligent Design science or is it theology that will seek to undermine the scientific process and tend to suppress our children’s natural curiosity about how and why things came to be?  

 

Theory of Evolution, which is an ever-evolving theory, has provided the world with many new insights into the workings of nature and it’s progression of life and has been the basis for many remarkable discoveries in medicine and engineering. Is Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is a theoretical fact – no it is a theory and it has evolved and changed greatly since it was originally shared, but it has provided a very sound basis for research in a scientific fashion.  And many of it’s original premises have been proven to be true, at least when considering verifiable physical data. So I wonder why there is a movement to change, remove or destroy a theory that has provided a foundation for scientific exploration and many modern inventions?  I don’t really know?  But it’s a really good question, why?  I can think of a few answers that have nothing to do with science.
