“The Mahatmas and Their Letters to A.P. Sinnett”

The Theosophical Society-Oklahoma City Lodge International Lecturer Jon Knebel Presents “The Mahatmas and Their Letters to A.P. Sinnett” March 17-18, 2017 Who are the Mahatmas? The Mahatma Letters are an interesting body of correspondence between two ‘Mahatmas’ (two shadowy Masters of ancient wisdom) and a pair of Englishmen in British Colonial India. The correspondences record a discussion between a member of the then very young Theosophical Society and these Masters of ancient wisdom. They outline the philosophy that came to be known as Theosophy. Although the Letters were not made public at the time, the teachings were summarized in the book Esoteric Buddhism, which introduced Theosophy to the western world. Jon Knebel will introduce the correspondence and outline the teachings presented in the Letters. Friday Evening (Unity Spiritual Life Center, 5603 N.W.41st; 6:30-8:30 p.m.) - Knebel will give a Power Point presentation offering an overview of The Mahatma Letters and how they came about. Saturday (Unity Spiritual Life Center 10-4:30 p.m.) - Full day workshop on The Mahatma Letters.  10:00am -12 noon- Will be devoted to Letter 47 (in the chronological version) from K.H. to A.P.
